About Me

Kwame Donkor headshot I’m a third-year Ph.D. student in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at the University of Washington and a member of the Interdisciplinary Energy Analytics (IDEAS) Research Lab, advised by Dr. June Lukuyu.

My research interests include power grid resilience, grid modernization, renewable energy integration, and equitable energy access—particularly in underserved regions. I am passionate about using data-driven approaches and interdisciplinary analysis to help advance sustainable and inclusive energy systems.

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Ghana. Before grad school, I worked for a major electrical services and industrial automation firm in Accra, leading projects centered on renewable energy and off-grid electrification.

Outside of research, I enjoy reading, going on walks, spending time with friends, and playing sports like football, table tennis, and pickleball (a recent favourite!) 😎.
